Story of a Naan

Time for some retroactive foodblogging! Back in January, this happened:

 Dough-slippers!

Through the marvels of the freezer, the last couple of those naan-breads made their final appearance with some other indian food, and alcoholic ginger beer:

How unbelievably exciting!

Tomorrow evening Roomies mom and sis will share us a visit for a couple of days. We'll see what we might pester them with, food-wise, then.

Hallarons

Gotta use beautiful sketches this close to halloween.

Bro and his gf came and went, we ate in, ate out, saw the cathedral, the castle and the city. It was really nice, if anyone else is thinking about visiting, you're more than welcome. Especially if you bring some wine with you. I'm baking some dark greyish blue macarons for the halloween monster cake tomorrow, so stay tuned for pretty pictures. Roomie hatched the splendid plan that we should eat tortillas tomorrow.

There were no objections.

Valborgsmässoafton Vappu Dayday

Long time no write. I've been rather busy writing another academic essay (2500 words written in the most incomprehensible manner possible). Well, the deadline was yesterday, in time for the Finnish "holiday" or party time (the actual holiday is Labour Day, 1st of May, and you're free from work then, which is why you can, and should have the craziest festivities on the last of April). In Finland, many desperately gather in parks to drink and celebrate, but it's always freezing cold, and raining. Yesterday we had tremendous luck with the weather - it was like summer! A good day to eat these:

Blatantly stolen from Roomie's blog, but hey, I made them,
the picture is practically mine too!

together with some sima/mead and sparkling wine! In the evening we ate tortillas with home made salsa, guacamole and everything else.

My birthday was really nice, it started with a bacon and scrambled eggs breakfast along with presents!

I got cheeseknives in four colours from Roomie!

Sugardough in five different colours from Longhaired Roomie! She thought I resembled the mascot for the doughs:

Hello!
I’m Flossie Crums and I'm seven and three quarters.
I live with my mum, dad and my brother Billie.
I love parties and camping and chocolate chip ice cream,
but most of all I love baking cakes and cookies
for my family and my fairy friends…

I also got two beautiful works of art from Finnish friend and the lovely lady from my group!

In the evening we ate lambchops with haricots verts, a selection of ovenbaked vegetables with creamy sauce and rosé wine:

For dessert, there was homemade macarons with raspberry-lemon filling:

Mmmmm!

It was good, thank you very much, everyone!

In other news, there's a new phone interview scheduled for thursday, let's hope it's for real this time. . .

Oh yeah and hey! We're going to London today! Whoopay! See, Longhaired Roomie is going there anyway, and there's the group ticket thing, plus her employer will treat us to lunch, so there's no reason  not to go!
