Fertilizer
I've gotten some free manure in my garden. It came with automatic rearrangement of the soil too. The cats in the neighbourhood are just too friendly, aren't they?
I'll probably find carrots in the middle of the flowers. . .

Green thumb
Ahem.
I just planted garlic, spring onions and carrots in the garden! So in a couple of months we'll have five fresh vegetables to eat, if lucky! We had a friend (and Finnishfriend) over for lunch and cake today, as she had her birthday recently, she brought leftover christmas crackers with her, so I got to crack one for the first time.
I got a set of tiny cute screwdrivers (quite useful!) and the best joke ever:

Why do ghosts live
in the fridge?
Because it's cool

Because it's cool
Hmmm.
Oh yeah, and green thumb reminds me on an old PC game called Green Thumb Cards (oh my god, you can apparently get it for free nowadays, we just had a trial version back then). The game was about managing a garden, you plant flowers and so on. Then you could attack your rivals' gardens with different pests, and if they had (the right kind of) pesticide they could repel the attacks. They could attack you too. What you could do was determined by the hand of cards you had. . . oh gosh, it was so good! Oh yeah, the objective with attacking another's garden was stealing their flowers, because, if I recall correctly, when you had enough of the same type of flower they became sort of "protected" and no one could steal them anymore.
Such were the days.

Digger
At least the right person is representing Finland in the ESC, congratulations, Pernilla Karlsson!
We experienced our first power outage last night, suddenly everything went dark, and we don't know why, because the weather was marvelous. Well, it's probably on the frontpage of our free local paper, Canterbury Times next week, so we'll know then. Chocolate sponge roll filled with chocolate saucething topped with vanilla sauce is an edible dessert, to say the least. Chilli bean enchiladas made with homebaked tortillas were also good. Sorry, no pictures, we ate them (the enchiladas, not the pictures).

Today I had some fun in the garden, digging up a spot in which I plan to plant some garlic and spring onions, and maybe something else? Oh, the excitement. We also planted some herbs, but it's still a wee bit cold outside for them, so they're staying on the sill for now. Plenty of sun for them there.
Sill is herring in Swedish. Sill är fönsterbräde på engelska.
I've been sorting through the stuff on my computer. Probably deleted around 5 GB of blurry photos now, and I'm not even halfway through. Wish me luck.
Oh, and last but not least, I got well again. Refreshing to have a regular cold instead of a month long monstercough.
And laster but not leaster, Digger is/was a fine game. I remember playing it on our really old monochromatically black/yellow computer (a hi-tech colourful version depicted in the link).

They're here already! You're next!
Yesterday was Pancake Day in England, so we celebrated it through eating pancakes with Nutella (which was on a special offer in the supermarket (and which apparently is a hazelnut spread, instead of, y'know admitting that it's pure nougat in spreadable form. I mean come on. All right, maybe it has 5 percentage points lesser sugar, but that's really it. Reading the label and hearing their ad on the radio it almost sounds as they are convinced it's all good and healthy. Don't get me wrong, it's delicious, but it is nougat)) and jam. Aren't my ridiculously long brackets within brackets within brackets a delight to read?
Went to ASDA today, I've never been there. It was Huge (pretty much like Prisma, you Finnish readers) and we bought all kinds of stuff. The long walk home was quite a pain though, and now that I've been there I know that I probably won't need to bother that often. They did have rolls of bubble wrap, and that's quite cool, I think.
I don't know if I'm allowed to say this, but Roomie bought a bicycle(!) Don't tell her I said this.
Also watched Invasion of The Body Snatchers today. It was lovely. Beautiful.
Aaand a bleeping cold has struck me. That's my own fault for falling ill in Finland, thus still being defenceless against all English germs. Blah. Hopefully this'll be a lighter one.

Cath'dral
Yesterday we finally managed to drag ourselves to the Canterbury Cathedral. Only took us five months, give or take. A very pleasant plus was that art students go free. We didn't have to struggle at all. The church was rather magnificent, and a nice thing about it being in England was that most of the text inside was written in English, so I could read it if I wanted to (my Latin is still slightly lacking).
Here's some pictures:
Didn't find the crypt yet (didn't really look that hard, because we wanted to leave early enough to ensure sufficient energy preservation for the looming supermarket trip).
Hum de dum.

Valentine's Head
Not much to say really, sculpting a human head exactly and meticulously is a giving but exhausting experience. Valentine's day is a superb reason to eat chocolate (as if one ever needs a reason for that)
I was also delighted to find stroopwafels the other day (thanks Tesco):
I really love them!
Oh yeah, I've completely forgotten to tell you about a strange thing. Exactly a week back I woke up with a mystery scratch on my nose:
I don't know how I got it. Nocturnal knifefight, self-destructive subconcious and radioactive kittens are all probable causes.
